Original 1972-release double album, The Beach Boys’ then-new and pretty spiffy “Carl and the Passions, So Tough” LP paired with a superlative mono pressing of Pet Sounds, aka the greatest album ever. Many think this is the finest mono pressing extant. Warner Bros. was at the top of its creative game then, and rereleasing a six-year-old album that almost no one had bought was just the right thing to do.
It wasn’t a great business move, though, and this great double-set soon wound up as a discounted cutout. This copy has the cutout slot in the upper left-hand corner of the cover.
Both LPs are in excellent condition. One has a new, non-original inner sleeve. The cover is good, with some age wear and a couple of corner crinkles.
