Beautiful songs by The Beach Boys. This Yellow Vinyl 45 with Picture Sleeve was available in the US in 2016 in limited quantities at Best Buy and HMV Stores, to promote the 50th anniversary release of The Beach Boys "Pet Sounds" Album.
This 45 pressing uses the original 1966 recordings and is in NM+ condition. Test played both sides for sound quality. Great clean sound, no skips and super glossy. Picture Sleeve, which replicates the 1966 Italian Sleeve version is also in NM+ condition, looks perfect. A matching Capitol US 1960s company sleeve is included (see photos).

About "God Only Knows":
Brian Wilson wrote "God Only Knows" with Tony Asher, an advertising copywriter and lyricist Wilson worked with on songs for the Pet Sounds album. Asher came up with the title, but the song reflects Wilson's interest in spirituality. It was a big departure from previous Beach Boys songs that dealt with girls, cars and surfing.
"It came from God through me," Wilson told Steve Baltin in the book Anthems We Love. "I was 24 when I wrote 'God Only Knows' and the rest of Pet Sounds. All I know is I wrote what was in my heart. And the lyrics and the music just connect with people."
Paul McCartney considers The Beach Boys' "God Only Knows" to be "the greatest song ever written" and one of the few songs that can make him cry.
