If you're buying on vinyl, you do want the original MONO mix as Brian heard it and created it, and it's kind of cool that this first pressing (released May 15, 1966) is from the Capitol Records LA pressing plant...that makes it a hometown souvenir for these guys.
Growing up in California in the 60's, this music just blanketed our top 40 radio, from Surfin' USA all the way through Good Vibrations and several of the mose familiar tracks on this stone classic. This (and Rubber Soul and the three Bob Dylan albums from 65-66) is where the album came into its own as an art form. We're so lucky that the sense of beauty in Brian Wilson's heart was so well-married to a sense of fun!
It didn't sell as it should have, and sadly the Duophonic (awful rechanneled fake stereo) pressings dominated, so these mono pressings are rather precious now. 
I'll copypaste the Condition section below, so that it's clear--also please see the photos--but I would just emphasize that the Very Good grading is for a low continuous surface sound, which doesn't detract from the music. Most importantly, there is no damage from a stylus to the groove walls of the kind that causes groove distortion...the sound is clear and clean from start to finish. I try to grade conservatively, and always based on listening to the album all the way through, using a Stax Lambda headphone (which is kind of an audio loup that reveals details like no other device).
R.I.P Brian Wilson, and thank you for all the beauty, and for transcending so many struggles. 
If you're aware of John Cale (of the Velvet Underground), it might be a good day to listen to his song "Mr. Wilson."

Here is the condition section:
VG vinyl: pretty unobtrusive but continuous surface sound--happily there's NO groove distortion, so the music and Brian's beloved mono mix is crystal clear, on inner grooves as well as outer.
VG sleeve: would be VG+ but for a small 3/4" split at top of outer spine (see photos). A bit of ringwear, small corner bumps, a wrinkle at top right and little wrinkles along the top edge.
