Description

The Beach Boys: Pet Sounds LP

Reprise, MS 2197,  1974 - rare reissue of 2nd disc of Pet Sounds/Carl & the Passions set, with brown cover (original album release was green) - album is MONO as the back says, the label is misprinted "stereo", see "NOTES" below.. this is a famous error..

BONUS: Good Vibrations/Best of LP (MSK 2280, 1978, VG+)

Disc is EXC to Near Mint - Cover has been in a protective poly sleeve since purchase and would be near mint, but for a factory defect: a bottom corner was bent then glued in manufacturing; there's also some slight cover crinkling at top center as the paper appears to be coming unglued a little underneat (visible on photo) - other than that the cover looks new..  This was Paul McCartney's favorite rock album, he says it inspired Sgt. Pepper's, while Brian Wilson said Pet Sounds was inspired by the Beatles Rubber Soul..

I'm also including their Good Vibrations LP (a best compilation), that is VG+/EXC condition..

"This album was previously released as part of a two record set titled Pet Sounds/Carl And The Passions - So Tough. This record is pressed in monophonic sound, the way Brian cut it." 

This is the repress of the version of Pet Sounds that came with the Reprise/Brother double LP. The color, and the text on the cover, is a variation of both the original Pet Sounds LPs and the double LP. This version mistakenly has "STEREO" listed on the labels despite this being a monophonic pressing.
