THE BEACH BOYS - 'PET SOUNDS'
1966 UK 1st *MONO* PRESSING LP
This superb 1st UK mono pressing is on the black/colourband Capitol label: T 2458
Being an initial pressing, both labels carry the 'Sold in UK....' text.
A 'KT' tax/price code is present in the centre of the side 2 label.
Housed in a front laminated, tri-flipback 'Garrod & Lofthouse' printed mono cover.
Complete with its original plain white 'Patents Applied For' inner-sleeve.
Matrix numbers: T1 2458-1 & T2 2458-1

Labels: EXCELLENT -
Clean & bright but with numerous spindle trails and slight wear to each centre hole.
Visual: EXCELLENT
Immaculate surfaces which are undulled by time or overplay and still retain all of their 'as new' deep-gloss shines. The only blemishes I can find in strong daylight are a few very faint fingernail scuff lines on side 1 but other than that, there is very little to fault. Close inspection directly beneath my unforgiving halogen desk lamp shows only a sparkling rainbow gloss but no other significant marks or any scratches whatsoever.
Play: EXCELLENT +
This fine copy has received some play on top-quality equipment and sounds as good as these UK mono pressing will ever be. All tracks play without any evidence of groove/play wear whatsoever or indeed any clicks, ticks or any other such distraction.
Cover
EXCELLENT +
A beautiful example which has has been carefully and correctly stored in non-smoking environment for the past 43 years. It displays a perfect, unscratched & undamaged high-gloss laminate with just a few light spine bends but no 'thumbnails' or any other wear whatsoever. There is a small bruise to the upper left corner but the others are clean, sharp & square and both opening edges appear untouched. The rear panel is 'as new' clean & white with no traces of any discolouration, marks, writing or missing paper. All flipbacks, both seams and the spine are in perfect condition.

General light storage & handling wear with no major faults.
- Strict & grading under strong daylight & directly beneath a halogen desk lamp to UK 'RECORD COLLECTOR' standards.
- I carefully play every record I sell on a $5,000 Rega P9 turntable at volume and list all visual and audible faults.
- All the photos in this listing have been taken by myself and are of the actual items for sale.
- All records are professionally & securely in custom-made record mailing boxes with the disc removed from the cover.
