Description
The balance of this LP consists of the ill-fated final submission to Warner/Reprise by the Beach Boys. After its rejection, a number of the tunes were re-recorded with different lyrics and issued on the "MIU" album. "Seasons In The Sun" and "Michael Row The Boat Ashore" are actually early 70s outtakes. The Christmas Medley, featuring the Beach Boys' children Carnie & Wendy Wilson and Matt & Adam Jardine, made its way onto the formers' "Hey Santa" album many years later. "I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus" is not the hit from the 1950s, but a fresh song Al wrote, featuring his two young sons.
Finally, Brian's "Child Of WInter" was a single release in 1974, poorly promoted and released too late by Warner/Reprise. It didn't have a chance to chart.
