The Beach Boys sing SURFIN' SAFARI / 409 Capitol GREEN SWIRL Star Line 45 (6095) Mint with M- SLEEVE!!
Condition is "used." Ships inexpensively by USPS Media Mail.
This record, the Capitol Records Green Swirl version of SURFIN' SAFARI / 409 Star Line vinyl 45 is one in a very limited edition series of singles that were pressed between September 1965 and January 1967. These 45s were the first re-issues of Capitol's Beach Boys singles going back to June 1962's original Capitol (Orange Swirl) Surfin' Safari b/w 409. These records are much sought after by collectors today and assembling a complete Mint state set of Green Swirls can take many years and constant vigilance, not to mention some expense, including travel!
But there is something about this series that is no less than enchanting. Perhaps it is the scarcity, or the quest, that is, having to visit far off cities and towns that advertise Record Shows on the off chance that one of these elusive gems (or even just a sleeve) might avail itself, and at a fantastic price. (Although some hardcore collectors consider these items a "bargain at any price.")
This rare, valuable record would be a great start or addition to your Beach Boys Green Swirl collection in that it is in Mint condition and you will never have to upgrade it as so many collectors continually find themselves doing. The records come in East Coast (thin print) and West Coast (thick print) varieties. Yours would be a West Coast version. Like all rare Beach Boys memorabilia, it is a great investment as it is always in demand and continually rising in value.
