How things change. When this album came out in 1967, my friends loved it but reviewers hated it. Now, today, it is considered a classic LP with some calling it the Beach Boys best LP. In reality, it is an amazing record and so innovative for its time. An enjoyable listen.
This is an first pressing as there is no mention of Barry Turnbull on the back cover. Turnbull, who just recently passed away, was a friend of Brian's and was credited with naming the album "Smiley Smile." The second pressings have that Turnbull credit printed on the back right corner. With no seam splits, no wear ring, the cover is quite lovely with some rubbing on the back bottom right, and on the two right corners. If you look carefully, on the left there are two small punchouts as it was used as an in-store promo.
The vinyl is also quite lovely and shiny and grades at near mint9 out of 10 on one side and near mint8 out of 10 on the others. Labels are also quite nice. Questions? Please email me.
