Description
Artist: The Beach Boys Title: Surfin' Safari Label/Number: Capitol DT-1808 (D) Jacket condition: NM Record condition: VG+ Notes: As noted, the cover is still in shrink wrap and, as expected, is in NM condition with although it does have just the slightest "dings" to the corners along the opening. The cover is the "Capitol Full Dimensional STEREO" version with a Duophonic catalog number. The labels are in nice condition with no flaws of note. The vinyl is bright and glossy with enough scuffs and scratches to warrant grading it down some to VG+. The record plays fairly well with some occasional minor surface noise. Side 1 is the lesser of the two sides and also has a few audible scratches that generate quite a few "ticks and pops" along the way. As an added bonus, the record is still contained in its original Capitol inner sleeve. Grading: Grading is usually only visual unless there are obvious problems that need to be checked out. I did play this one as noted above. I use Goldmine standards with Ebay's EX grade added for items NOT QUITE up to NM; but please read the notes above as I try to note anything that might influence the grading one way or another. I try to be conservative and grade as though I were buying the record and hope my feedback speaks well for my grading. Mono (M) or Stereo (S) is noted after catalog number. Don't hesitate to e-mail questions. Mailing and costs: Domestic shipping is via USPS, media mail with delivery confirmation. I ship in cardboard mailers made specifically for records with additional cardboard pads for added protection. Shipping and handling charges are a flat $4.00 for the first LP and $1.00 per additional LP. Overseas shipping on purchases under $100.00 may be sent by USPS First Class Mail International but I will upgrade at the buyer's request. Orders for more than $100.00 will need to be by Priority Mail International. This provides added protection for both the buyer and for me. The price will be the actual shipping costs plus $1.50 for the mailer and pads noted above. I know that customs charges are problematic but, sorry to say, I cannot lower the value on the customs form below the purchase price.
I always mail in a poly sleeve with the record outside the jacket. If there's an original inner sleeve I also remove the record from that and put it in a plain sleeve for mailing. That way, there are no seam splits on either the jacket or the sleeve due to any handling in the mail. I'm always happy to combine shipping costs for multiple purchases.
