Description
One unplayed Beach Boy album + truly rare (American) Spring lp produced by Brian Wilson. They are part of a larger collection of Beach Boys lps, around half of them promos and all unplayed, that I am selling. If you see something in another listing that you'd like, I'm happy to break up or regroup sets with a minimum two album purchase.
1. (American) Spring, 1972 - A true rarity by the Rovell sisters, Marilyn & Diane, who were sometimes referred to as American Spring to distinguish them from a British band also called Spring. Marilyn was married to Brian Wilson at the time and he is listed as producer (with Stephen Desper) and arranger. This was no vanity project by a superstar spouse. The sisters sang and harmonized beautifully, a trait that Marilyn's daughters Wendy and Carnie Wilson carried forward as 2/3 of Wilson Phillips. Spring is backed by Brian, Carl, Al & Mike on vocals and members of LA's legendary Wrecking Crew. Tracks include four original Brian Wilson songs; two by Carole King; Leon Russell & Bonnie Bramlett's "Superstar" and the lovely 1946 country standard, "Tennessee Waltz."
2. The Beach Boys Love You, 1977 - Still in shrink wrap (unsealed) with original illustrated dust jacket & regular Brothers Records label. Jacket and vinyl super-clean.

More about the collection: All albums in this and my other listings are from my personal collection dating back to a long-ago career in rock radio. Record sales are not my livelihood, so rather than attempt to grade them using a system in which I have no expertise, I prefer to let the photos and my honest descriptions tell the story. If they're described as unplayed, it's because I never played them and there've been no other owners.
