Description
The Beastie Boys took the world by storm in 1986 changing their style from hardcore New York punk rock to a truly pop-centric mixture of rap music, classic rock samples and east coast attitude. "Licensed To Ill" produced by Rick Rubin featured multiple hit singles and spread like wild fire culminating in an opening spot on Madonna's 1986 tour. This is a rare first press with the "BFC" prefix with some near-mint vinyl. This is a landmark album from a group who constantly changed their sound.
Per Tim Neely of Goldmine:
"In the 1980s, there also were albums with three letters, usually "BFC"; these are early pressings of certain LPs that were released at a lower list price. If they became popular, they were re-released without the "B" (as "FC") with a revised bar code (usually adding an "02" to the number on the back) and a higher price."
