1965 1st FRENCH PRESSING *MONO* ODEON LP
***ULTRA-RARE EDITION WITH PULL-OUT COVER**
This extremely rare 1965 1st French mono pressing of 'Beatles For Sale' is on the orange & black Odeon label: OSX 228
Housed in a die-cut, gatefold cover with 'thick' card laminated insert.
Matrix numbers: XAR 809 21, M6 238684 & XAR 810 21, M6 238685
CONDITION DiscLabels: Side 1 EXCELLENT MINUS Side 2 EXCELLENT PLUS
Visual: VERY GOOD PLUS
Bright & clean surfaces bearing just an a few light fingernail scuffs & the occaisional light harline scratch but no major wear.
Close inspection directly under a halogen desk lamp reveals no more than some additional paper hairlines and no other marks or scratches .
Extremely thick & heavy sharp-edged vinyl which lies 100% flat on the turntable with no dishing or warping.
Audio: Side 1 VERY GOOD MINUS Side 2 VERY GOOD
Played many times there is some groovewear distortion/crackle which is more evident on side 1 than on side 2.
Both run-ins and all bands play very quietly with just an occaisional light ticks but no loud clicks, pops, hiss, jumps or repeats anywhere.
Cover: VERY GOOD
Constructed of very thick, heavy card, this example bears moderate handling & storage wear with no major faults.
The front panel has some storage wear to the corners & light wear to the edges but no tears.
The front die-cut hole has light wear at the 4 & 7 o'clock positions but is otherwise intact & undamaged.
The inner panels are clean with no writing, marks or missing paper.
The rear panel is clean, glossy & uncreased with just some bruising to the lower corners but no tears.
The seams are all strong and unsplit and the spine is clean and readable with no tears or missing laminate.
Insert: NEAR MINT
Probably never removed from the cover, the component in oustanding condition.
There are just a few small & light storage scuffs to the laminate but no creasing, tears or holes.
