Summary:
’Christmas Time (Is Here Again)’, was The Beatles FIFTH Xmas record and was distributed FREE to existing members of The Official UK Beatles Fan Club in December 1967.
The Disc in this set needs to be seen to be fully appreciated – it’s in IMMACULATE MINT CONDITION, LOOKS TO BE UNPLAYED, with a STUNNING RED PRINT NEW LOOKING LABEL TO MATCH, the Picture Sleeve to is SUPERB and it would be HARD TO FIND a better or more COMPLETE example of this Original 1967 UK Beatles Flexi Disc, and if that’s not enough, ENHANCING the INVESTMENT POTENTIAL further is that it comes COMPLETE with its Original Double Sided NEWSLETTER, and if that is not enough, is STILL PROTECTED IN ITS ORIGINAL OUTER OUTER MAILING ENVELOPE, printed with the UK Postal Authorities date stamp, confirming that it was mailed out from ‘London, S.W.1. Gt. Britain’ on ’19 Dec 1967’ – REMARKABLE!!
Detailed Description:
The Original 7" Flexi Disc is on the Custom Cream Label with STUNNING Red Print, together with the Fan Club logo and catalogue number LYN 1360. The Flexi plays at 33 1/3rd rpm. Recorded on Tuesday 28th November 1967 at the ABBEY ROAD Studios in St John’s Wood, London, this was the last Christmas Fan Club recording where all four Beatles were present in the studio together.
Stamped Matrix:
The official stamped matrix in the trail out groove reads LYN 1360-1L.
The Disc is protected in its ORIGINAL card Picture Sleeve, with two fold over flip backs to the top and bottom edges of the reverse of the sleeve. The sleeve was designed by Julian Lennon, John Lennon and Ringo Starr.
….And comes with its Original, DOUBLE SIDED National Newsletter Christmas 1967, featuring the printed Newsletter message to the Front and a cariacature image of The Beatles by Bob Gibson.
The Disc is still protected in its VERY NICELY PRESERVED Original Brown Outer Mailing Envelope, in which the 1967 Flexi was mailed out in, back in December 1967. The outer mailing envelope displays a Postal authorities stamp printed ‘London, S.W.1, Gt Britain’ (from where it was mailed) together with a mailing date of ‘19 Dec 1967’.
Condition:
The Custom ‘Beatles Fan Club’ record label is in NEW, mint condition – STUNNING – not a single sign of fading to any of the Red printed text, LOOKS LIKE IT WOULD HAVE LOOKED ON THE DAY OF ISSUE, with absolutely NO soiling whatsoever, BEAUTIFULLY PRESERVED, the record label cannot be faulted.
The Original 7" Flexi Disc playing surface is in PRISTINE mint condition – STUNNING, FLAT, CAN’T FAULT IT, LOOKS TO BE UNPLAYED!
The Original card Picture sleeve is in SUPERB near mint condition – would be mint all but a light corner ‘tap’ to the top left corner, and the tiniest bruising (hardly visible) to the two bottom corners, otherwise STUNNING, and very carefully preserved from light and pollutants over the years, stored in its Original Mailing Envelope, the sleeve is still very FLAT and SQUARE with NO fading to the the image to the front, and NO fading to the printed text on the EXTREMELY CLEAN and WHITE reverse panel of the sleeve. There is NO discoloration, NO age spotting, NO tearing, NO handwriting, NO edge splitting to any part.
The Original DOUBLE SIDED Newsletter is in FINE near mint condition, NO tearing, NO handwriting and just a minor crease to the bottom left hand corner.
The Original Outer Brown Mailing Envelope (in which this 1967 disc was sent to the Fan Club Member back in December 1967) is an IMPRESSIVE example, and, REMARKABLY, still in ONE PIECE as is the envelope flatp attached to the rear of the envelope. Showing just some inevitable light wear and tears, it clearly shows the Fan Club member’s printed address. There is a Red ‘Records Do Not Bend’ printed stamp to the front and reverse opening flap of the mailing envelope. The Postal authorities date stamp of ‘19 Dec 1967’is clearly printed. Please note it is considered VERY RARE for these Original Mailing envelopes to survive - most were thrown away at the time after the Fan Club member had received the disc.
STUNNING Set, RARELY offered in this SUPREME and COMPLETE condition – It could not disappoint any Collector.
