Beatles 1967 Promo Only Capitol 25th Anniversary SEALED Jim Fraw’s Personal Copy!
Also known as “The Silver Years” in the price guides, this Promo-Only album was given away to Capitol execs on the 25th anniversary of Capitol Records being in business. This copy belonged to Capitol Exec, Jim Fraw, by Fred Rice Productions, which at first glance looks like Fried Rice Productions.
This copy is fully sealed, rare and never offered to the public. Also included is the original 1967 form letter issued by Capitol president, Alan Livingston. For those who are old enough to remember (which I’m only barely), the predecessor to the Xerox machine was a copier called the “mimeograph.” This machine worked by stenciling out the words onto a coarse sheet, and then running ink through the stencil to produce copies of memos.
The original mimeographed Livingston letter is identifiable by the “browned-in” look of the letters being much different than that of a typewriter or a copy machine.
Finally, I have included in the last two photos, photos of the album’s labels from my open copy, which is not included in this sale. The album contains an excerpt of “I Want to Hold Your Hand,” as well as a brief discussion about the song by Capitol exec, Dave Dexter.
Vinyl--- Near Mint, never having seen the light of day in 55 years.
Plates--- Avant garde a clue.
Cover--- Still fully sealed. Some crunching at the bottom of the front cover, no breaches. There are three Capitol breathe holes in the shrink. See photos.
Labels--- NM. I have provided photos of the labels from my open copy, which is not for sale in this listing. Reference only.
Letter--- Flat and razor-sharp. I have kept the letter stored behind the LP for decades, suggest the new owner do the same.
Note: All LP’s ship outside of their album covers in order not to damage the covers during shipment. Unless of course, they’re still sealed!

(Please note: Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized. The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle. Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix? Thanks!)
As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up. Thanks!)
