On offer today we have a very acceptable 1st press1968 UK Stereo White Album. Be warned though! This is not a final upgrade!
It rates, all up, as VG to VG+, and
I'll be very thorough in the description 'cos I dont want anyone to unclear about what they are bidding on!!
But it is still a very acceptable entry level collectable (EX+ ones of these go for 100's of dollars, or pounds actually so double that!) until you can save up for that $1500-$1600 NM upgrade !!
OK then, the stuff:
Both the discs show some fine hairlines and a few scuffs and a few non feelable marks which do not effect the play. Both discs have a light sheen to them.
Mothers / Stampers
Side 1 - 4 HP
Side 2 - 1 RO
Side 3 - 1 L
Side 4 - 2 GG
( on closer inspection to get the above I noticed a mark on the intro to Martha My Dear which on test playing, produces a pop (for the piano intro part) but does not skip or jump).
The Labels are EX and have no marks or tears or writing. Spindle marks are at a minimum. The labels both have, on both discs, the "SIUK.." statement but DO NOT have "An EMI Recording". This error was later corrected, thus making them the much rarer 1st labels.
The black inners have seen better days and have record splits on the bottom and all down 1 side on one and about half way down on the other. They are intact however and have no tears to the centre die cut (rare in itself) and would repair very nicely.
The photos too are "pre-loved" having been obviously attached to a bedroom wall and George may have also made it to a scrapbook to get his tape residue.
The cover is in very good condition. Still has a high sheen to the laminate, there is only a very slight hint at ring wear. A few creases and the bottom left corner has been knocked. The inside is new and fresh and clean its rates EX.The spine is still legible though the laminate is starting to lift and there is the beginning of a split at the top.
Like I said it's not EX+, but it's not going to cost you 500-600 bucks!!
So save youself the time and expense of getting one of these from the UK - and if you are from the UK the price will seem a snip!
Will post worldwide.
Will be packaged in LP mailer with extra card stiffeners and with the cover/inners housed separately from each other. The postal rates quoted are from ebay and it would appear domestically that the express post option is the best as it gets to you quickly and is tracked.
International postage - will be at cost - if you want it tracked then there will be an extra charge by the Post Office - but if its not tracked and it goes missing then that would be at the purchasers risk. Far better to pay a little extra for tracking.
