Featuring FOUR Substantial Apple recording artists, The Iveys with 'Storm in a Teacup', James Taylor with 'Something's Wrong', Jackie Lomax with 'Little Yellow Pill' and Mary Hopkin with 'Pebble and the Man'.
This RARE and ORIGINAL UK **PROMOTIONAL** FOUR Track Vinyl EP was issued by APPLE Records UK in July 1969, featuring a promotion with the long established UK company WALLS ICE CREAM.
The track 'Storm in a Teacup' was produced by Mal Evans, 'Something's Wrong' was produced by Peter Asher, 'Little Yellow Pill' was produced by George Harrison, and 'Pebble and The Man' was produced by Paul McCartney. All four credits appear on both record labels.
The Promotional EP is on the traditional Dark Green Apple label with 'Sold in UK…' label text and displays the Official and DISTINCT Walls Ice Cream Logo on both sides of the record labels. The side 1 official stamped matrix is CT1A-2, side 2 matrix CT1B-2.
Derek Taylor expressed his reservations about this commercial tie-in with Ice Cream manufacturers Walls. This Promotional EP was available for 6/6d (32 ½ pence after decimalisation) to buyers of Walls' Top Ten and Big Wiz ice creams. The sleeve was Apple's FIRST 7 inch picture sleeve.
This UNIQUE Vinyl EP comes in its original 1st Issue Black Laminated Card Picture Sleeve, displaying three flip backs to the reverse. The front of the sleeve displays the four Apple Recording artists, together with the official WALLS ICE CREAM and APPLE logos. The reverse of the sleeve displays the four Artists together with each track, with mini-biographies for each of the artists together with the official Walls Ice Cream and Apple logos.
Both sides of the record labels are in SUPER IMPRESSIVE **Near Mint** condition – the labels look NEW - both sides are BRIGHT, UNFADED AND UNWORN, with only 1 or 2 tiny faint spider marks.
Both sides of the vinyl disc are in FINE **Near Mint** condition, the vinyl disc is in great shape, it gleams like new, with just a couple of very faint light wispy surface lines. Both sides play extremely well with NO skips, jumps or distortion. The Laminated sleeve is a very Respectable example in Excellent condition, with no handwriting or tearing, showing just some mild record indentation to the front and a little inevitable laminate pinching/creasing to the corners.
