Description
For auction is the Holy Grail for every Beatles' collector, the Beatles famous "Butcher Cover" album. This is the 2nd state version, where the more common "trunk" cover was pasted over the existing Butcher Cover. It appears that there had been an attempt on the 2 upper corners to peel the trunk cover, but the effort was apparently aborted, see pictures for detail. As more of these paste over's are peeled, less exist. Of course, the buyer may choose to have it professionally peeled or to keep it intact. The paste over cover shows wear and age and also the attempt to peel. Condition: small split about 1.5" on bottom, other splitting appears to have been repaired, the spine is in very good shape. I would estimate 99% of underlying Butcher Cover would be in excellent shape. You should be able to see the telltale black triangle of Ringo's black shirt showing through, see last picture. It is clearly visible to the naked eye, but difficult for camera to capture. Original Capitol stock inner sleeve included along with vinyl; both in good to very good condition. Some minor scuffs on side 2. Album will be shipped in appropriate cardboard album mailer and will be well packed.
