Beatles 45 1964 Lee Alan Presents A Trip to Miami Stupid-Rare, Nice Starter!

I can’t test-play vinyl at the minute, so with that said…

Collectors know that this 45 was given away as a freebie by a Miami radio station only, and for a very brief time in 1964.  Miami was The Beatles’ second stop on their very first tour after playing the Ed Sullivan Show.  This 45 is incredibly rare.

This was the other record that I did test-play at a friend’s.  Just a couple of good spoilers for those who will never get to hear the interview, it starts off disastrously.  The DJ, who didn’t do his homework, honestly didn’t know which one was which.  At first, they thought he was kidding them, but it resulted in Paul telling the kids not to listen to this station!

The only other one I’ll share is that the “Stamp Out The Beatles” campaign out of Detroit was mentioned, and they were asked when they became aware of it.

Paul: “Well, when we got off the plane, we were asked about it.  That was the first.”

George: “I read about it in Cashbox before we came over.”

John: “I heard about it in primary school, when I was 7.”

You’ll have to win the record to hear the rest.

Vinyl: VG.  Both sides still have about 60% to 70% original shine.  Lots of light to moderate needle marks and scuffs, none of which are feelable.  Both sides play back with groove distortion.

Plates: Machine-stamped LAP-1/ LAP-2.  (Lee Alan Presents) Hand-etched initials “LFC,” both sides.  Hand-etched “Part 1, Part 2” respectively.

Labels: VG/VG.  Side 1 has some non-feelable sticker residue.  Side 2 has some flecking off of the label.  See photos.

Sleeve: NM.  Brand new generic white sleeve provided.

This one’s going to be tough to find for you to complete your rare Beatles collection.  It’s likely that this copy will not be a starter.  It’ll be your keeper.

As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up.  Thanks!)

Please don’t bid unless you’re willing to honor your amount, okay? Thanks!

(Please note:  Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized.  The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle.  Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix?  Thanks!)
