I can’t test-play vinyl at the minute, so with that said…

This is a very nice copy for your collection.  There are a couple of quirks to it, though.  The most interesting one to me is that the dead waxes not only don’t use the familiar machine-stamped asterisk Los Angeles insignia, but that it uses two completely different machine-stamped stars that hadn’t been in use for almost ten years!

Vinyl: VG+/EX.  Side 1’s quirk is that it has a diamond shaped discoloration in the playing surface.  But I remember very clearly that it doesn’t affect playback in the least.  Not feelable with the fingertip.  Had that anomaly not been there, both sides would grade Excellent, meaning just a couple of very light marks per side.  Beautiful copy.

Plates: G2/G2. 

Side 1’s machine-stamped star happens to be the wide 6-pointed star that was last used in 1963.  Side 2’s machine-stamped star is the older-style 5-pointed hollow star, which was most often spotted on purple Capitol 45’s from the 1950’s and early 60’s.

The only other Beatles record that comes to mind which used this star was a west coast mono pressing of The Beatles’ Second Album.

Labels: EX/VG.  Side 2 label has blue ballpoint writing, otherwise, it would have also been an EX label.

Sleeve: VG+.  Nice sleeve, NO SEAM SPLITS.

Note:  All 45’s ship outside of their sleeves in order not to damage the sleeve during shipment. Generic plain, white sleeves and Mylar provided.

As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up.  Thanks!)
