Beatles 45 Baby, You’re a Rich Man Hardest Apple Variation, NM!
I can’t test-play vinyl at the minute, so with that said…
Los Angeles only, this variation is at least as tough as the Apple variation with the black star.
Most collectors are aware that in late 1975, Apple Records added the “All Rights Reserved” disclaimer to their labels, as well as adding the “Mfd. By Apple Records, Inc.” print to the bottoms of BOTH sides from the Los Angeles plant.
However; not very many collectors are aware that just prior to the disclaimer being added, a very small run of labels WITH “Mfd. By Apple Records, Inc.” at the bottom of both sides, but WITHOUT the “All Rights Reserved” disclaimer had slipped out.
I have verified the entire 45 catalogue with this label variation. All titles in this run are difficult to find. But some titles are much harder to find than others.
This copy is NM.
Vinyl: NM/NM. 45 looks just like it did in the record bin.
Plates: G14/G14. Machine-stamped asterisk in the dead wax makes this copy pressed in Los Angeles.
Labels: NM/NM. Side 1 label has manufacturer’s defect where the gloss had developed bubbles that popped. Kind of cool, actually. You can see them in the photos.
Sleeve: VG+. Company Apple sleeve has some wear around the label holes, otherwise a great sleeve. NO SPLIT SEAMS.
A VERY tough run to complete. Check to see if this title is missing from your collection!
Note: All 45’s ship outside of their sleeves in order not to damage the sleeve during shipment. Generic plain, white sleeves and Mylar provided.
As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up. Thanks!)
Please don’t bid unless you’re willing to honor your amount, okay? Thanks!
(Please note: Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized. The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle. Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix? Thanks!)
