I can’t test-play vinyl at the minute, so with that said…

For those of us who find fascination with records that were released on American labels, but in configurations that America didn’t get, Canada was a great resource.  For sale this week are two Canadian singles released on the orange and yellow Capitol swirl label, to which the U.S. didn’t have access.

Not by any means a judgment, but rather a statement of fact, any collector who has tried to collect the Canadian catalogue will attest that most Canadian first pressings are at best, in VG condition, and it’s not unusual to find them completely trashed.  Canadian teenagers LOVED their records that hard!  Both of the Canadian singles offered this week were definitely inspired choices for pairings to the teen market anywhere in North America.

And they’re in brilliant condition.

Vinyl: NM/NM.  This copy looks store stock brand new.  I’ve never seen a better copy!

Plates: CC1-72133/CC2-72133.  I think these are Canadian matrices.  They’re neither British, nor U.S.

Labels: EX/EX.  Just a hint of edgewear, both sides.  First pressing nabels has the word, “Canada” at the bottom perimeter, not in parentheses. 

Sleeve: Black Canadian Capitol sleeve looks practically 1964- brand new, just some minor outdent.  NO SPLIT SEAMS.

Note:  All 45’s ship outside of their sleeves in order not to damage the sleeve during shipment. Generic plain, white sleeves and Mylar provided.

As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up.  Thanks!)

(Please note:  Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized.  The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle.  Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix?  Thanks!)
