Beatles 45 John and Yoko Happy Xmas 1971, Rare Green with Black Swirls, EX!
I can’t test-play vinyl at the minute, so with that said…
Released in extremely limited quantity, only some of the Lennons’ “Happy Xmas” 45’s were issued with black or brown swirls in the green vinyl.
Nice copy!
Vinyl: EX/VG++. Side 1 has a few areas where it looks like the black vinyl was supposed to have been added, but it didn’t take. These areas are flush against the surface, are just as smooth as the vinyl is, and they do not affect play in the least. They just look a little weird.
Side 2 has a small patch of very short hairlines at the very beginning of the song. See photo. Otherwise, this side is as shiny new as Side 1 is.
Plates: Z5/Z5. Both sides also have the “Bell Sound” stamp, as well as Sam Feldman’s initials, sf. Machine-stamped letter “O” in the dead wax on both sides makes this copy pressed in Jacksonville.
Labels: EX/VG+. Side 1 has one or two of those Jax cracks in the very edges of the labels, due to their high gloss that the other plants didn’t employ. Side 2 has some light dirtwear, which might clean off to an EX grade as well.
Sleeve: Stunning EX. Not NM, but very close. Bought the same day and from the same store as the mystery plant “Let It Be” single for sale this week, this copy comes in a “The Beatles on Apple” sleeve. The warehouse was likely exhausting their supply of those sleeves.
Label serrations are minimal on Side 1, almost non-existent on Side 2. All three seams are flat and razor-sharp. NO SEAM SPLITS. Original price sticker still affixed to the sleeve. I stored the records out of these sleeves for 54 years.
I kept these nice.
**Note: All 45’s ship outside of their sleeves in order not to damage the sleeve during shipment. Generic plain, white sleeves and Mylar provided.**
If your collector is difficult to buy for, this copy is going to make an exceptional Christmas gift. If you’re a collector yourself, you should buy it for your collection, wrap it nicely for under the tree, and then act surprised when you open it, come Christmas morn!
As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up. Thanks!)

(Please note: Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized. The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle. Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix? Thanks!)
