Beatles 45 SCARCER 1964 Please, Please Me VJ White Label, Nice VG Copy!
I can’t test-play vinyl at the minute, so with that said…
Of all of the commercially released “Please, Please Me/From Me to You” label variations, the rarest is the purple label, followed by this white label. Commonly mistaken for a promo, this copy is nearly as scarce as one. If you happen to find one in VG+ or better, you can’t get away with less than triple digits.
This copy occupies the space between a strong VG and your keeper. Good luck.
Vinyl: VG/VG. Both sides have a few light needle marks and a light scuff or two, which cannot be felt with the fingertip. But what knocks the grading down from VG+ is that both sides have some dirt embedded into the grooves, which I couldn’t remove by gently using warm water on a 100% cotton tee-shirt. If the dirt is removable by using a stronger agent, please feel free to try. I didn’t want to.
NOTE: The photos show brightened, exaggerated images in order to give you an idea what the dirtwear looks like. But the actual visuals aren’t half this bad.
Plates: Very deep and clear “Audio Matrix” on both sides. Side 1 has the initials, “RA,” whom I’m not familiar with.
Labels: VG+/VG+. Both labels would have graded Excellent, except for some light dirtwear on both sides. Not bad.
Sleeve: EX. Original Vee Jay sleeve is present. It features the thumb tab. Light wrinkles, NO SPLIT SEAMS. Beautiful sleeve.
Note: All 45’s ship outside of their sleeves in order not to damage the sleeve during shipment. Generic plain, white sleeves and Mylar provided.
As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up. Thanks!)
Please don’t bid unless you’re willing to honor your amount, okay? Thanks!
(Please note: Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized. The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle. Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix? Thanks!)
