Beatles 45 We Wish You a Merry Christmas Sleeve w/Oldies “Please Please Me” EX!
I can’t test-play vinyl at the minute, so with that said…
For those unfamiliar, these sleeves were issued with the Oldies reissues of Vee Jay and Tollie 45’s for the 1964 Christmas season only. They haven’t been seen nor reproduced since.
This will be someone’s keeper. Sleeve is among the best I’ve ever seen, 45 is also a very nice copy.
Sleeve: Strong VG+. Some might call it Excellent. Vee Jay used over-recycled paper for these sleeves, so it’s extremely hard to find ones that aren’t split, or faded.
This sleeve has punchy, bold colors. One side has glue strips down each side. Light wrinkling, not bad at all. Millimetric tears along top edge, NO tears around the die-cut hole. BARELY any yellowing at all. Seriously, you’d have to have another one to compare it to. NO SPLITS.
Supernice sleeve!
Vinyl: Excellent vinyl, both sides. Side 1 has some light scuffs, nothing bad. Light manufacturer’s lines in the dead wax on both sides, very common with Vee Jay 45’s.
A generic white sleeve will be provided to protect your company sleeve during shipping.
Labels: VG/ NM. Side 1 label has some ringwear. Pock marks on both labels were created by bubbles in the gloss popping during the manufacturing process. You can see that these pock marks have gloss inside them. See photos. Side 2 label looks brand new. High gloss, not a fake.
Plates: Both sides carry the “Audio Matrix” insignia, the “MR” in a machine-stamped circle and the hand-etched delta symbol preceding the plate number.
Sleeve is not NM, but let’s face it. With one this nice, you might as well just get it as your Christmas present to yourself this year.
As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up. Thanks!)
Note: All 45’s ship outside of their sleeves in order not to damage the sleeve during shipment. Generic plain, white sleeves and Mylar provided.

(Please note: Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized. The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle. Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix? Thanks!)
