First + foremost a giant THANK YOU to Perry D. Cox for his help, information and grade guide. The ONLY authentic issue of the record "Girl" by Capitol U.S.A. Black vinyl promo in mono + stereo.
Most collectors know the back-story of this record. But for those that don't, here goes. To coincide with the 1977 release of the double L.P. "Love Songs", Capitol U.S.A. planned to issue a 45 rpm. single of "Girl/ Your Gonna Lose That Girl". Sleeves + labels were printed ahead of the pressing of the planned release of that 45 BUT for unknown reasons Capitol abandoned the project prior to pressing. NONE were ever pressed by Capitol !!!
However before canceling the project Capitol DID press an "extremely limited" number of Promo's on black vinyl of the song "Girl / Girl" in stereo side A, and mono, side B. These were sent out to radio stations to promote the song and the "Love Songs" album. Contrary to popular belief they were sent out in a generic white sleeve, NOT the "Girl / Your Gonna Lose That Girl" sleeve.
Although the authentic labels and sleeves of "Girl / Your Gonna Lose That Girl" found their way out to the collectors market, and are easily found, they were used for the many, many clear or colored vinyl counterfeits.. Only the black vinyl is THE authentic Capitol issue (release)... Free priority shipping. Cautiously graded at N.M.- .. NO scratches or scuffs !!!! Very clean..
