Description
This auction is for an extremely rare set of 15 coloured vinyl Beatles singles issued in the US market only, in 1994. They are known as "Jukebox 45s", as they featured large centre holes and have "For Jukeboxes Only!" printed on the labels.
I was given these as a gift when I left the US after an assignment there and they have basically been in storage since I got back, so untouched for nearly 23 years. I played one or two when I got them in the US, but otherwise, they are as new and I have long since parted company with a record deck.
Only a small number (I think around 20,000 sets) were produced in 1994 by Capitol records CEMA Special Markets division, where CEMA stood for Capitol, EMI, Manhattan and Angel Records.
The special markets division manufactured and distributed jukebox singles, although it is thought that this set of 15 were also distributed to specialist retail outlets. I know that mine were bought in a record store on Monroe Avenue, Rochester, New York, where I was based.
I understand that there was a second set of 15 records issued in 1996, but I was back home in the UK then, so only have the first set.
The records are produced in 8 different coloured vinyl and are as follows. I have shown the catalogue number for each disk, which is printed on the label and also pressed into each disk:

In visually inspecting the records, they look to be in pristine condition. There are one or two labels which have some slight marks on them which I think are just a function of age, certainly not of use. The images give an idea of the set and colours.
I consider this to be a rare opportunity for a true Beatles fan or record collector to acquire an extremely rare and complete collection of vinyl 7" records, so I hope they find a good home.
