This was the THIRD official EMI L.P.release by The Beatles, !!!!
The Beatles had advance orders of over 250,000 copies, insuring an immediate Number One!!!! By the end of the year it had sold 600,000, eventually selling almost 800,000 copies in Britain. Global sales for this Album reached over 4,000,000!!!!
On the 5th August 1964 for the first (and only ?) time in history The Beatles were No.1 in the Album AND Singles chart in th UK AND America with the same titled Single AND L.P. "A Hard Day's Night"!!!!
This is the First and ONLY Beatles album to have Every track written by Lennon/McCartney, with the 7 tracks on Side One: all included in the Film, and the 6 on Side Two: not featured!!!
The Matrix, Mother and Stampers are:
Side One: XEX-481-3N. On the run out grooves are the letters ARG and the number 2.
Side Two: XEX-482-3N. On the run out grooves are the letters RTD and the number 4.
CONDITION:
The Centre Labels to both sides are in "Fantastic" condition. Though when held up to a strong light there are some Spindal Marks present to both sides but NONE that even remotely spoil their look!!!! They are both Spotless and Clean with all the lettering in Perfect order with no signs of Rubbing!!!! Side 1: Also has KT stamped to the the Centre of the Label!!!!
The Vinyl still retains that Gloosy Look and has clearly Hardly ever been Played which is reflected in the playback!!!! There are a few marks showing on the Vinyl when held up to a bright light (though many of these have been caused by handling). NONE affect the playback which is "Brilliant"!!!! I play graded this on a Linn lp12 Sondek through a Linn system (which is very unforgiving). I listened through the Mono channel and the sound was "Superb"!!!! The record lays perfectly Flat with no Warping!!!!
Overall the Labels and Vinyl must grade as at least Excellent!!!!
SLEEVE:
The Vinyl is housed in it's ORIGINAL and correct Laminated "Parlophone Flipback Sleeve"!!!! There are no Rips, Tears or Writing anywhere to be seen!!!! The correctly Curved Flipbacks are all Firmly in place and have Not lifted!!!! There are no Laminate lifts anywhere!!!! The Opening edges are Straight, and all 4 corners are great!!!! The Spine is in Perfect order and the Back is White!!!! The ONLY thing that stops this being Perfect is when held at certain Angles you can see some Very Slight signs of Creasing, apart from that it really is in Nice condition!!!!
I would grade the Sleeve as Excellent!!!!!
So here we have a Brilliant and Hardly played copy of this Nice and Original UK 1st Pressing!!!!
