Description
The Beatles - 'Abbey Road'
Apple - PCS 7088 - UK 1969 - 1st Press
Vinyl/Sleeve: EX/EX
Matrix: (a) YEX 749-2 5 WRH
(b) YEX 750-1 8 ADO
Vinyl: Excellent
This record has been cleaned and play checked. There's no obvious marks or scratches except two miniscule marks. However one of the marks (see picture) - a dot smaller than a pinhead creates 5 successive clicks on 'Because'. Apart from that, playback is great, side one playing like near mint, and a little occasional mild surface noise towards the beginning of side two. The labels have very few spindle trails suggesting this hasn't received much play. The first press label omits 'Her Majesty' from the tracklisting - and isn't on the sleeve either.
Sleeve: Excellent
This is the first press sleeve with the misaligned apple on the back. On later versions, the apple lines up with side one's printed track listing. It also has the narrow spine. The sleeve has no edgewear, no surface rubbing, and no wrinkles in the laminate except for where there is a small bend on the bottom left corner. This comes with a plain 'Patents Pending etc' inner sleeve. Stamped on one side is the name of the retailer - 'Parker Pianos'. Overall, this sleeve is borderline Near Mint.
Side One: Come Together / Something / Maxwell's Silver Hammer / Oh! Darling / Octopus's Garden / I Want You (She's So Heavy)
Side Two: Here Comes The Sun / Because / You Never Give Me Your Money / Sun King / Mean Mr Mustard / Polythene Pam / She Came In Through The Bathroom Window / Golden Slumbers / Carry That Weight / The End
Combined postage offered to UK destinations ONLY. I'll send an invoice if you've bought more than one record.
International shipping is with eBay's Global Shipping Program (GSP) and combined postage is not available. It may appear expensive, and delivery may take a few extra days, but I'm sorry, it's the only international shipping option I offer.
