Description
This is a 7" reel of Memorex tape. 1/4" wide by about 2200 feet long. It's in good condition with leaders at both ends. It has been recorded on, but it's only the Beatles, so you could record over it. Although it has two versions of Abbey Road on it. The released version, and another one, called 'The Other Way of Crossing Abbey Road', being Abbey Road Outtakes and alternate versions. Maybe recording over it may not be a good idea, huh? Especially as there's stuff you are unlikely to have heard before. Plus, there are tracks that are held to be Beatle songs, but, I have my doubts. Curious?
Iain Macmillan climbed up a ladder set in the middle of Abbey Road and changed the face of a north-west London street for decades to come. On August 8, 1969, from a perch about 10 feet above the road, Macmillan snapped six shots of the Beatles as they traversed the zebra crossing near the EMI Studios where the group did their recordings. One of the six shots became famous as the cover of the Beatles ' Abbey Road LP. 'I took a couple of shots of the Beatles crossing Abbey Road one way. We let some of the traffic go by and then they walked across the road the other way, and I took a few more shots. The one eventually chosen for the cover was number five of six. It was the only one that had their legs in a perfect 'V' formation, which is what I wanted stylistically.'

All recorded at 7.5 ips for a 4 track tape recorder. This is currently the only one of it's kind. You'll not find it in the shops, or anywhere else. Notice track 26 on the red leader? I'd never heard that one before. Is it really a Beatle track as it is supposed? It sounds like Paul singing the Lennon song 'I Want You' (track 6), I didn't doubt it, but some do. What do you think? How about track 8, 'Oh I Want You'? Some say it is a John Lennon track, but it doesn't sound like one to me. What do you think?
Finally, the final track in the Bonus Recordings on the white leader, the three part harmony triple tracked song 'Because'. It is a track featuring vocals only, not a note played by a single instrument. It's fantastic and you must hear it, I promise you will be thrilled.
