Description

While Capitol Records in the United States kept passing on the Beatles, Capitol of Canada began releasing Beatles singles in 1963. Because the first two singles did not attract attention or sales, the label chose not to issue the Beatles' first album, "Please Please Me". After "She Loves You" began selling in Canada and word spread to North America of the band's phenomenal success overseas, Capitol of Canada decided to release the Beatles' second British LP, "With The Beatles". As the group had yet to achieve stardom in Canada, the label altered the front cover of the album by adding favorable quotes about the Beatles and retitling the record "Beatlemania! With The Beatles".
