Description

1963 Pressing of The Beatles "Please Please Me" Mono LP

Gold and Black Label PMC 1202

Matrix XEX 421 - 1 N       and       XEX 422 - 1 N

The record is in good condition with light surface marks but no deep scratches.   Sounded well last time I played it but I no longer have a record player so cannot verify that.   It was always played on a Dansette automatic loader and was never lent or taken out.  

The labels are very clear and unworn.  "The Parlophone Co. Ltd is printed in upper and lower case letters on the rim followed by "All rights of the Manufacturer and of the Owner of the recorded work reserved".   (XEX421) 33.1/3 printed on side 1, (XEX.422) 33.1/3 printed on side 2.

The front cover has Angus McBean credited as the photographer on the bottom right hand corner.   "Printed and Made by Ernest J. Day & Co. Ltd London.  PMC 1202   PCS 3042" printed in the bottom right corner on the reverse.    "Recording first published 1963" below the list of tracks and LONG PLAY 33.1/3 R.P.M." underneath

The front cover has wear on all four corners but is not marked or scratched.   The reverse has a 1 cm tear on the side and has become ragged along the bottom as shown in the photo.   It has also yellowed with age.

The record comes with the original sleeve which has crumpled on two corners.

This was a much loved and cared for record in its time
