EXTRA NICE 2nd STATE MONO BUTCHER #6 LOS ANGELES VERY CLEAN VG+
Beatles Yesterday and Today 2nd State Mono Butcher T-2553 #6 Los Angeles Pressing
Cover is VG+ All seams are tight, virtually no shelf wear on front cover. Slight pealing in upper/lower left corners (details below) but does not affect the Butcher cover underneath. Slight crease in upper right corner. Still glossy and colors are not faded. Back cover still nice,white and glossy. Very slight discoloration/shelf wear around outer edges.
Vinyl is G+ Surface has smudges but should clean up nicely. I have never played the LP so this is visual evaluation. Label is still rich and glossy. The blemishes you see on the vinyl in the pictures are light reflections. Comes with original Capitol sleeve insert.
I tend to be conservative in my grading. I have seen similar copies in much worse condition, but rated at VG++ or Near Mint, go for obscene amounts.This record will be professionally packed in a record shipper with bubble wrap. The vinyl will be shipped outside of the sleeve to prevent damage.
Purchased in 2002 from famed Beatle Collector Michael Wittlif. This is the provenience of this particular Butcher cover that he sent to me in an email after purchasing. This email will be included with the package. Below is an excerpt.
"This album was part of a collection that arrived from a Capitol executive, that had been part of his collection over several years. You should know you hold in your hands a Capitol-employee-owned original! The are 2 corners of uplifted cover...the story goes that the original owner in quality checking the glue used to hold the cover in place and went specifically for the corners that typically were weak in the pasting process"
