Description
This is probably the most sought-after of all Beatles 45 picture sleeves! It’s hard to find in any condition, and this one is pretty good. An original 1964 The Beatles Can’t Buy Me Love/You Can’t Do That straight cut sleeve and disk.
I would rate this sleeve G to VG. The sleeve lays flat, but there are a vertical and horizontal crease which meet at the top of Ringo’s head, just like someone had folded the sleeve in half twice, it’s more noticeable on the back side. Both sides show uniform yellowing with age as seen in the photos. The front has a small stain on the “Y” in “BUY” and a quarter inch tear and crease in the seam by Paul’s shoulder, which is visible in the photo. There are also minor creases in the upper left and lower right corners which are not visible in the photo. The back shows the same crossing creases which meet at the top of Ringo’s head, and a less noticeable one where John’s shoulder meets the seam. There is general light wear around the edges of both sides.
There are no holes, no writing, no stickers, and no missing pieces. Other than what I have described, there are no tears, seam splits, or stains. It’s a great piece.
I would rate the disk NM. The vinyl and the label are shiny and free from marks or wear.
The photos are very accurate as to how this sleeve displays. It looks fantastic and will cost you a lot less than a Near Mint copy, if you can find one for sale! You would be proud to have it in your collection, as I have been.
