Description
Hello, I have here an original un-opened and still sealed French pressing of the Beatles Double White album, 1968 issue. It is marked as item SMO 2051/2 and is indicated in the site referenced below as being of color "pâte blanche". Which is not a pure white but off-white in colour. The album cover also reflects this as it is a off-white marble looking like finish. Please refer to the links below for further information. The album itself is still sealed in its original shrinkwrap with the special edition pressed on colored vinyl sticker still applyed. The shrinkwrap on the upper left-hand corner of the front cover is slightly pulled away, as you can see in the picture, and the rear of the album, on the shrinkwrap, has some scuffing from the albums that were stored next to it. There is no damage whatsoever from the scuffing on the cover itself only on the shrinkwrap and the shadow on the front and back cover is my reklection taking the pictures. This has been stored in a box with hundreds of other albums that I owned for the last 40 years. I originally bought this myself at Peaches Records in Fraser, Michigan in late 1968 or 1969 and I remember the day I purchased it as I found it in the import rack and thought it was a bit special. This seems to be very rare issue because of its off-white colour and French pressing. I will ship this worldwide for the rates listed below and it will be shipped wrapped in bubble wrap with two layers of cardboard on each side to make it very stiff to avoid any damage. Shipping rates also include full insurance and delivery confirmation for shipping this item. I usually ship within one business day also. Thanks for stopping by. Sincerely, Romualdj. PS: here are the links provided for your reference. French link here - http://www.virtua-beatles-music.net/article-22322669-6.html and this link, look in the French section and you'll find the SMO number referencing its French pressing. http://www.quine.org/beatles-foreign.html Here also is a translation using a web translator of the French description. It sounds a bit disjointed but I think you can read between the lines or copy and paste your own description and try your own translation method. The translation is here-- It is in 1978 was published the double white with "white paste" disks. The most popular reference is registered with the other disks in colour of the Beatles: DC 21/22. The DC reference likely indicates "Drive color". Two references are also known for the same object: SMO 2051/2 and 2 c 172-04173/4. The first dates back to 1978, the second from 16/01/1979. Also, No Reserve Price.
