This album was The Beatles FIRST release on the now famous Apple label. It was entered into the charts on the 7th of December 1968 and went straight to number one-where it stayed for 7 weeks! Making it the FIRST double album to get the top slot...EVER!
The rather unusual fact about this album is that it was the first release by The Beatles which contained only SOLO material.
By the time 1970 ended, the total sales of this wonderful album were estimated to be 6.5 Million! However...get this...The only other album that beat this a few years later was "Saturday Night fever" !!!


Catalogue Number: PCS 7607/8

The Vinyl: VG+. GORGEOUSLY shiny vinyl. SIMPLY GREAT!! The sides 1 and 3 of the vinyl have a few very light but visible marks to her, but after playing her through, I found just light and occasional tics over the small affected areas-nowhere else....Only light background noise, mostly due to just dust in the grooves, so a good clean and you've got a lovely copy!
She has been played a good few times.
A simple joy to listen to, which would only improve with a professional clean....Really nice playback!
EACH RECORD IS FLAT

The labels: EX. All four of the labels are extremely bright and clean with the DARKER apple.
Light spindle marks to each label showing quite a bit of play, but these can only be seen when angling to the light....Simply superb!!!!
Light hole wear to side 1 & 3...Not much at all.
"Mfd in the U.K." to each of the labels.

"An EMI Recording" printed on on Sides 1 and 2 ONLY.

The Cover: NUMBERED: 0384891 It is the first run TOP loading and LOVELY & CLEAN, SUPERB shine to it. Garrod and Lofthouse gatefold without tears, rips or writing!!
The spine is lightly squashed, but remains strong and clear, with light lifting to the laminate just on the spine.
Has the printing of  Stereo to the back top right.
The top has very light feathering.
There are a few very small (about 7) crescents of spidering near the opening to the front and back-total, as well as some small fingers of spidering eminating from the spine and seam....THAT REALLY IS IT!!!

Very good and very strong Garrod & Lofthouse gatefold....Still opens with that lovely crackle as if it's the first day of opening.

Just, simply FANTASTIC ORIGINAL FIRST PRINTING!!!

Inners: EX+++! Original BLACK inners. They are both incredibly well looked after and have barely any sign of ageing.
They have the die-cut corners and the'windows' on one side to each.
THEY ARE ORIGINAL AND SUPERB

Pictures: The two pictures present (John and George) are EXCELLENT AND ORIGINAL. They DON'T even have any pin-holes around their edges...Which was quite typical for the Beatles fans to pin their beau's up on their bedroom wall.
There is a very small hole-barely visible-to johns photo...That really is it.
Lovely and bright.
Beautiful white backings too!


Poster: EXCELLENT! Full size and with lyrics to the back.
 Only some very small holes to the central fold creasing, NO pin holes.
