In this auction:

• “THE BEATLES”(aka “THE WHITE ALBUM”) LP by The Beatles

• This is Apple Records SWBO - 101 (in stereo).

• It is a DOUBLE VINYL LP.

• It was initially issued November 25, 1968.

• This LP has a FIRST RUN COVER. First run covers have a number below 2,250,000 and there is no copyright notice printed inside the gate-fold cover. The number on this LP cover is A1740152 and there is no copyright notice printed inside the cover.

• “The BEATLES” is embossed on the cover.

• The vinyl with Apple labels with the Capitol logo in the perimeter print is also FIRST RUN/PRESSING VINYL.

• Please note that this LP is NOT the “COMPRESSED PRESSING” that George Harrison had Capitol Records destroy. Only a few of those copies survived.

• Some first run/pressing Apple labels with the Capitol logo in the perimeter print were issued with ERRORS in several song titles:

* “Bungalow Bill” instead of “The Continuing Story of Bungalow Bill”.

* “Revolution No. 1” instead of “Revolution 1”

* “Revolution No. 9” instead of “Revolution 9”

• Other first run/pressing Apple labels with the Capitol logo in the perimeter print were issued with correct titles to the songs (“The Continuing Story of Bungalow Bill”, “Revolution 1”, and “Revolution 9”)

• The LP in this auction has Apple labels with the Capitol logo in the perimeter print and ERROR/INCORRECT SONG TITLES

• The COVER is in VG+ CONDITION with light overall wear/aging on this white laminated cover. There are a few small light stains on the front and rear cover. There is some aging of the cover near the edges, and there is a small mark on the rear cover at bottom center. There is also a small 1-inch split inside the gate-fold cover in the center (inside spine) that does not show on the spine outside of the cover. The COVER IS REALLY QUITE NICE AS YOU CAN SEE IN THE IMAGES

• The VINYL (all 4 sides) is in VG- (VG MINUS) CONDITION. There are a number of light surface hairlines/scuffs none of which are “feelable”, but there will be some occasional audio distraction. The vinyl is still quite glossy. The name “Whitehead” is written in ballpoint in the top area of both of the full-Apple labels

• This LP was issued containing 4 GLOSSY COLOR PHOTOS (one of each Beatle). They are on the heavier paper stock. “Printed in USA” is in the lower left margin. According to Perry Cox, photos printed before December 12, 1968 have “Printed in USA” in the margins. Therefore, these photos are the CORRECT FIRST RUN/PRESSING PHOTOS for this issue of the LP.

• The 4 GLOSSY COLOR PHOTOS are in NEAR MINT CONDITION.

• This LP was also issued with a COLOR POSTER with LYRICS PRINTED ON THE REVERSE. The poster measures 33½ inches X about 22½ inches. According to Cox, the first run posters have the credit that reads “© Apple Records”. Second and later run posters changed this credit. Therefore, this is the CORRECT FIRST RUN/PRESSING POSTER for this issue of the LP, because it has the “© Apple Records” credit printed at the bottom of the lyrics side of the poster.

• The COLOR POSTER with LYRICS PRINTED on the reverse is in STRONG VG to VG+ CONDITION with moderate overall signs of handling. There is a name is written in ballpoint at the top of the images side of the poster.
