Rarity: Very Rare especially so being in this Whole & Complete condition. With it's Original Box and Inner. Back in the 60's Vinyl was the Main source of listening to music. Tapes were of course available but Only sold in Very small quantities compared to Vinyl. So you Will see this Album come up Very often while searching to add to your collection. However I Can assure you, you will NOT see many copies available in Twin Track Tapes.

Brief Artist & Album/Single Info: "Beatles for Sale" is the fourth studio album by The Beatles. It was released on 4 December 1964 in the United Kingdom on EMI's Parlophone label. Eight of the album's fourteen tracks appeared on Capitol Records' concurrent release, Beatles '65, issued in North America only. The album marked a departure from the ebullient tone that had characterised the Beatles' previous work, partly due to the band's exhaustion after a series of tours that had established them as a worldwide phenomenon in 1964. The songs introduced darker musical moods and more introspective lyrics, with John Lennon adopting an autobiographical perspective in compositions such as "I'm a Loser" and "No Reply". The album also reflected the twin influences of country music and Bob Dylan, whom the Beatles met in New York in August 1964.

The Beatles recorded the album at EMI Studios in London in between their touring and radio engagements. Partly as a result of the group's hectic schedule, only eight of the tracks are original compositions, with cover versions of songs by artists such as Carl Perkins, Chuck Berry, Buddy Holly and Little Richard being used to complete the album. The sessions also produced a non-album single, "I Feel Fine" backed by "She's a Woman".

In Britain, Beatles for Sale held the number 1 spot for 11 of the 46 weeks that it spent in the top 20. The album was similarly successful in Australia, where the band's cover of Berry's "Rock and Roll Music" also topped the singles chart. One of the songs omitted from the US version of the album, "Eight Days a Week", became the Beatles' seventh number 1 in the US when issued as a single there in February 1965. Beatles for Sale was not released in the US until 1987, when the Beatles' catalogue was standardised for release on CD.

CONDITION

Unfortunately I do NOT possess a recording machine of this caliber to confirm wether the Tape actually plays.So this is being listed Purely as a "Collectors Item". I see No reason why it should not play as the tape has the leading edge with Parlophone TA-PMC-1240, Speed 33/4 I.P.S. "A Hard Day's Night" & Recording First Published 1964. 

The Outer Case is not Split, Chipped or Broken anywhere. The Tape sits tightly within the Spool. It has stamped to both sides "Made In Great Britain EMI TAPE Recording Tape"

I can ONLY grade this as GOOD because I CANNOT verify that is plays.

The cover to Beatles For Sale was one of the first "Gatefold" sleeves (was it ACTUALLY the first ??), and included cover photography by Robert Freeman taken in Hyde Park, with sleeve notes by Derek Taylor.

COVER: This Tape came packaged within a Cardboard Box measuring 13cm x 13cm x 1&1/2cm. The format is Exactly the same as the album witch was designed and photographed by Robert Freeman taken in Hyde Park to the front and the Song Titles and information on the reverse. There is one Split to the Top left corner of the Box, and the Front corners are very Slightly bumped There are no other Tears, Rips or Writing anywhere. ALL of the Printing is Readable and not Faded. There are obvious signs of Rubbing to the front (mainly around the edges of the picture). The Back of the Box has aged but that's to be expected from a Box of this age. PLEASE look it my photos. This cover is incredibly difficult to find in Ex+ condition simply because of it's design and age. However I would be happy enough to grade it as Good+!!!! 

COVER SUMMARY: Not seen often, this one is in reasonable condition with only a few clues of age and blemishes. This classic Box should (as described) please many collectors.

Grading: In my opinion I REFUSE to believe that there is ANY record that can be truly graded as Mint; the BEST that could be offered is Mint- (minus)!!!! Especially so from the 50's, 60's, 70's or even up to the present date!!!! Even copies bought new today would have some form of imperfection on the Record or Cover!!!! Under that assumption I will NEVER use the word Mint in any of my descriptions and Mint- is the HIGHEST grade I would ever offer. So I will only offer from Excellent, Good or Poor with a -(minus), +(plus) or ++(plus, plus)!!!!
