THE BEATLES - 'BEATLES FOR SALE'
1964 UK 1st *MONO* PRESSING LP
On the black & yellow Parlophone label: PMC 1240
Both labels include the 'Sold in UK..' text and 'Parlophone Co. Ltd..' rims.
Unusually, there is no tax/price code is visible in the centre of either label.
Housed in a outer laminated, inner-flipback gatefold mono cover.
Complete with its original 'Use Emitex' rice-paper lined inner-sleeve.
Matrix numbers: XEX 503-3N & XEX 504-4N
Stamper numbers: 1,8/GHO & 2,5/GPL

Labels: EXCELLENT +
A perfectly clean & bright set with just a handful of spindle trails around each centre hole. Part of the silver centre hole marker is still present on the side 1 label.
Visual: EXCELLENT +
Both surfaces are pristine and totally unmarked in strong daylight with all of their 'as new' deep-gloss shines fully intact. Close & careful examination beneath my unforgiving powerful halogen desk lamp reveals just some insignficant wispy inner-sleeve removal hairlines but no scratches, scuffs or other surface marks or wear. Both sides of this heavy copy lie 100% flat on the turntable with no traces of dishing or warping.
Play: EXCELLENT
This copy has been rarely and carefully played and there is no significant deterioration to the sound quality on any track. Apart from a touch of light background on some of the quieter passages and between tracks, there is little to fault.
Cover
VERY GOOD +
This fragile example displays some light handling & storagwear but no major faults throughout. The delicate front leaf is flat and uncreased with just some light wear to the edges but no tears to any. The corners have some rubbing to their extremeties but no tears to the upper or lower hinge areas. Inside shows a few light marks on the left hand panel but no writing or missing paper anywhere. The rear panel is clean & glossy with just the inevitable light disc impression but again no major visual blemishes. All seams are inact & unstressed and the spine is clean, uncrushed and fully worded.
Inner-sleeve
EXCELLENT
Clean & crisp with a few faint age spots on one side but no splits, tears or writing.
- Strict & grading under strong daylight & directly beneath a halogen desk lamp to UK 'RECORD COLLECTOR' standards.
- I carefully play every record I sell on a $5,000 Rega P9 turntable at volume and list all visual and audible faults.

- All records are professionally & securely in custom-made record mailing boxes with the disc removed from the cover.
