1964 UK 1st STEREO PRESSING LP
This original and early 1964 UK 1st STEREO pressing is on the yellow & black Parlophone label: PCS 3062
Both labels carry the 'SOLD IN UK..' text and 'Parlophone Co. Ltd..' worded rims.
The 'KT' tax code is visible around the side 2 centre hole.
Housed in an outer laminated, inner-flipback stereo gatefold cover with outlined stereo logo.
Complete with its original 'USE EMITEX...' rice-paper lined inner-sleeve.
Matrix numbers: YEX 142-1 & YEX 143-1
Stamper codes: Side 1 1 / GP and Side 2 4 / GO

Labels: VERY GOOD
Clean and bright just with a collection of spindle marks around each centre hole.
Visual: VERY GOOD
Both surfaces are clean and glossy, displaying just a few light handling marks in strong daylight, but nothing I would call a scratch. My inspection reveals some paper hairlines but no other significant marks or wear. Both sides lies flat on the turntable with no signs of dishing or warping.
Play: VERY GOOD
This copy has received numerous careful plays but is without any major deterioration to the sound quality throughout. All tracks play without any groovewear distortion and my careful playcheck uncovered only some ticks between the tracks. Aside from 2 ticks on “I Follow The Sun”, 3 very light ticks on “I Don’t Want To Spoil The Party” and 3 very light ticks on “No Reply” there are no further audible faults or wear on this well-looked after copy.
Cover
VERY GOOD
A respectable example of this fragile cover with just handling and storage wear but no major faults. Both panels are clean and bright with no heavy creasing or missing laminate. The inside is clean and black where it should be with just a little toning to the edges of the left panel but no writing or missing paper anywhere. Its only significant fault is a 5mm tear to the lower and the upper end of the middle hinge, but all seams and the clean white spine are undamaged.
The rear panel bears the inevitable light disc impression.
Inner-sleeve
GOOD
Clean and crisp with no tears or seam splits. Unfortunately is written a number with biro on the upper right corner.
Grading to UK 'RECORD COLLECTOR' standards.
I carefully play all the records I sell at volume and list all visual and audible faults.
All the photos have been taken by myself and are of the actual items for sale.
All records are securely in custom-made record mailing boxes with the disc removed from the cover.
