Description

THE BEATLES - 'BEATLES FOR SALE'

In October 1969 EMI introduced this new '1-EMI-box' design label to replace the yellow & black design which had been employed since April 1963. Most utilized the same matrices with the original 'tube-cut' mixes/masters as the 1st pressing and are their equal in sound quality.

This UNPLAYED stereo pressing dates from October 1969 and is on the '1-EMI Box' EMI/Parlophone label: PCS 3062

Both labels carry the 'The Gramophone Co. Ltd..' & 'Made In Gt. Britain' rim texts.

Matrix numbers: YEX 142-1 & YEX 143-1 (the same as the 1964 1st pressing)

Stamper codes: 1,6/HM & 1,6,8/HM

Vinyl weight: 142g

Housed in an outer front laminated, inner-flipback gatefold cover with an outline stereo front indicator.

Complete with its original red & white EMI advertising inner-sleeve.

CONDITION

Disc

Labels: MINT

A perfect pair with no spindle trails or marks around either centre hole.

Visual: NEAR MINT

Pristine, deep-gloss playing surface which are 'as new' and unmarked in strong daylight and reveal just a few barely visible wispy paper hairlines directly beneath my powerful halogen desk lamp.

Play: MINT

This copy appears not to have been played and my careful single play-check confirms the sound to be flawless and fabulous throughout.

Cover

EXCELLENT

A very respectable example of this fragile cover which apart from a little wear along the upper edge of the front leaf and at each end of the spine, it's a difficult one to fault.

Inner-sleeve

EXCELLENT

Clean & flat with a few light storage creases, but no writing, tears or seam splits.
