Description

You are bidding on an LP box set.  The Beatles - From Liverpool (The Beatles Box), very good/excellent condition covers and near mint vinyl (see notes below).  The item will be well packaged (the vinyl removed and placed in a white paper sleeve to prevent seam splits) and sent immediately upon payment.  First Class postage in the UK, 'Standard International' to other destinations (see below).  I have tried to be as honest as I can about its condition but if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

Please read all the descriptions and P&P charges before bidding.

This is the original UK release 8 album box set of The Beatles 'From Liverpool' (The Beatles Box) with the EMI/Parlophone silver and black label.  The box set consists of 8 albums (124 tracks) spanning the entire career of The Beatles and includes many rare versions hard to find in one package especially on vinyl (see below).  The box cover has some damage to the corners with splitting (a common problem with this box set) and has been taped in places with clear tape.  All the inner sleeves are still in excellent condition with a nice high gloss finish.  Apart from side two of disc 5 (see below) all the vinyl is in near mint condition and plays back with virtually no surface noise.   Very minimal spindle marks indicating the albums have hardly ever been played.  An excellent addition to any Beatles fans collection.

Album Cover notes:
Box front and back covers are still in very good condition, some splitting to corners, scuffing
Inner sleeves, excellent condition (slight creasing on some)
No writing on cover or labels
No fraying on edges of cover

Vinyl notes:
I have played all 8 albums back at a reasonably loud volume on a pair of high end Sennheiser headphones to evaluate their condition.

Albums: 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7 & 8
Virtually no surface noise, excellent playback

Album: 5
Side one: Virtually no surface noise, excellent playback
Side two: Virtually no surface noise apart from a surface mark which does play back with some light clicking

In general the vinyl is in excellent/near mint condition.  It looks very clean with no surface marks (apart from side two, disc 5).  Near perfect playback.  A really nice copy.

I tend to be over critical of a records condition as it is not my intention to misrepresent what I am selling.  I want the buyer to feel what they have bought is as described although not everyones opinion of its condition will be the same as mine.

If you have any doubts or questions about this record, please ask me and I will try to be as helpful as I can.

Review/Notes:
THE BEATLES BOX (December 1980 - World Records SM701/8)

This eight-album package was compiled and sold by World Records, EMI's mail order division. It was never commercially released in the United Kingdom. The set consisted of 124 Beatles tracks arranged chronologically from Love Me Do, the group's first Parlophone single, to Her Majesty, the final cut on Abbey Road.

All albums were issued on the EMI/Parlophone label. The eight individual LPs were untitled. Each cover featured a previously unpublished color photo of the Beatles on the front and extensive liner notes detailing their career during the period represented by the album's songs on the back. The box was designed to look like a wooden shipping crate, carrying the words "From Liverpool" stenciled in black ink across the top, along with a small snapshot of the Beatles pasted across the front of the crate.

Track Differences:

Across The Universe - (Version 2) produced by Phil Spector.

All My Loving - begins with five taps on Ringo's "hi-hat" cymbal.

All You Need Is Love - the mono version.

And I Love Her - contains six bars of acoustic guitar in the fadeout instead of the usual four.

Baby You're A Rich Man - the true stereo version, previously found just on the German Magical Mystery Tour LP.

The Continuing Story Of Bungalow Bill - appears as it does on The Beatles ("white album"), minus the opening guitar obbligato.

The End/Her Majesty - the pause between the two songs lasts for only five seconds. On Abbey Road, the time between tracks is fifteen seconds.

Get Back - the album version, produced by Phil Spector.

I'm Only Sleeping - the extremely rare version with the slightly delayed guitar solo, previously found just on the U.S. stereo eight-track tape edition of "Yesterday" And Today.

I Am The Walrus - the composite version put together by Capitol Records engineers John Palladino and George Irwin for the U.S. commercial Rarities.

I Feel Fine - the true stereo version that begins with tapping drum sticks, whispering, coughing and Ringo closing his "hi-hat" cymbal.

Let It Be (Version 2) "reproduced for disc" by Phil Spector.

Love Me Do - (Version 1) the rare one with Ringo on drums.

Penny Lane - the composite version from the U.S. commercial Rarities.

She's A Woman - the true stereo version previously available just in Australia and in Singapore/Malaysia/Hong Kong.

Strawberry Fields Forever - the true stereo version.

Thank You Girl - the original mono version without John's extra harmonica fills.

This Boy - the mono version.
