Each Christmas, from 1963 to 1969, The Beatles Official Fan Club sent its subscribed fans a flexy-vinyl disk of recorded amusing
Goon-like antics by the 4 lads. With the break up of the group in early 1970, it was decided that the dedicated fans should have a final Christmas pressie for 1970. This was a proper 12 inch vinyl double sided LP produced by Apple Records of the entire 7 years of Christmas recordings entitled "From Then To You". The master tapes of the 7 annual recordings had gone astray so the personal
flexy-disks of The Beatles Fan Club secretary (Freda Kelly) were borrowed to produce the pressings for the LP but this carried with them some of the authentic crackly background normally present with flexy-disks. So the slight crackle on the LP compilation is not due to the Apple LP but due to the format being copied. The LP for sale is an authentic first pressing since the Matrix coding on the label of side 1 is LYN.2153 and for side 2 is LYN.2154. This item also has the Matrix markings stamped on the runout the wrong way round ie LYN 2154 is on side 1 and LYN 2153 on side 2, contrary to the correct number printed on the labels. The outer sleeve picture is taken from the newsletter of the first Fan Club Christmas record in 1963. The LP is in Very Good Condition Plus having been played very little by me from new and consequently there are hardly any turntable spindle marks on the label. Side one has a very fine surface scratch running through from track 2 to the label which does not interfere with the sound quality. Side 2 has a few tiny surface scratches and again not severe enough to affect the sound quality. The inner paper sleeve is in Excellent condition with slight discolouration around the edges as to be expected 53 years later. The outer cover is in Very Good condition with only a slight impression of the disk on both sides and slight crinkling on the front.
