1970 UK FAN-CLUB ONLY APPLE LP

Issued via mail to UK Fan Club members only in December 1970, this rare LP contains all of seven The Beatles' Christmas messages from 1963-1969.

This outstanding original UK pressing of that LP was pressed by Lyntone on the dark green Apple label: LYN.2153/4

The disc is housed within a front laminated non-flipback sleeve depicting their 1963 Fan-Club flexi-disc cover.

Complete with its original plain white 'Patent No...' die-cut inner-sleeve.

Labels: EXCELLENT +

Both labels are clean & bright with just a tiny tear on side side 2 label in the 7 o'clock position. Each unworn centre hole has just two or three faint spindle trails around it but no other traces of wear.

Visual: EXCELLENT +

A pristine pair of playing surfaces which retain all of their just-pressed deep-gloss shine. There are short & faint fingernail scuff marks on side 1 but side 2 is completely unblemished in strong daylight. Close inspection directly beneath my unforgiving halogen desk lamp reveals little more than a sparkling rainbow shine and a few harmless wispy marks, but definately no scratches or any other major visual blemishes. This beautiful heavy pressing lies 100% flat on the turntable with no dishing or warping.

Play: EXCELLENT +

From visual evidence alone, this album appears to only to have been played a few times and my single careful play check at volume confirms the sound quality to be completely unworn throughout. Apart from a few light ticks at the beginning of '1966' there really is little to fault audibly. As the tracks on this album were dubbed from Fan Club secretary Freda Kelly's personal copies of the original flexi-discs so there is a touch of background from the original source material itself but no other audible faults or wear whatsoever.

Cover

EXCELLENT

An extremely respectable example of this rare cover which retains a clean, white and unyellowed front panel with just some light creasing to the upper right corner area and a few smaller 'thumbnail' wrinkles towards the opening edge. The lower corners display slight shelfwear rubbing and there are some notable 'pushes' towards the lower part of the front opening edge but just two smaller ones on the rear. The rear panel is clean & white with just a faint disc impression but certainly no significant marks or blemishes - let alone any writing or missing paper. Both seams and the unworded spine are unworn and unsplit.

Clean & flat with just an unavoidable light disc impression but no writing, seam splits or tears.
