UK first press of George Harrison’s Cloud Nine
Owned by me from new
By this time all UK Warner/WEA records were being pressed in Germany to UK specifications so to be sure you have a UK release look out for the following:
UK: WX 123 appears below the barcode on the back of the cover, top right (see picture)
UK: WK 123 appears on the spine at the top
UK: WX 123 appears on the back of the inner sleeve, top right (see picture)
WX 123 appears at 3 o’clock on both side 1 and side 2 labels (see picture)
A hand etched UK appears in the run off of side 1 after the matrix number
The matrix numbers of this copy are R/S Alsdorf 925643-1-A, then a hand etched UK on side 1 and R/S Alsdorf 925643-1-B on side 2.
The sleeve is in excellent condition, just the lightest touch of ringwear but no sign of any shelfwear.
The inner sleeve is also in excellent condition, again just the lightest touch of ringwear but no tears or seam splits.
Visually the record looks in more than excellent condition, a lovely shine with just the lightest of sleeve removal marks to be seen. The last time I played it, which was some time ago, I noted that it played through beautifully – no background noise at all apart from just three or four light ticks between tracks 3 and 4 (I don’t want to doubt my younger self but, for selling purposes, I’ll add that there may be the slightest touch of crackle here and there).
