A spectacular Deluxe Limited Numbered First Edition signed by Yoko Ono, the wife of the late John Lennon (1940-1980) of the Beatles, and Bob Gruen who contributed text and photographs to this wonderful edition. Issued a quite low number, this volume is numbered 1282 of 2,500 Limited Editions signed by Ono and Gruen out of a total publication of 2,500. Also includes text from John Lennon as the book documents the last decade of John Lennon's life with wife Yoko in New York City. In brand new condition, removed from the original shrinkwrap only to ensure the enclosures. In a very unique binding that incorporates black leather with aluminum boards silk-screened with images of Lennon and silver gilt page edges. Enclosed in a matching cardboard protective sleeve, contained in a beautiful solander box that is silk-screened in full color with a metal title plate. SOMETIME IN NEW YORK CITY is a tale of two people and one city: the romance of John and Yoko set against the vibrant backdrop of New York. The complete story is told in the words of Yoko Ono, Bob Gruen and John Lennon himself, and through the intimate photographs - mostly in full colour and previously unpublished - selected from the archive of Bob Gruen." Married to John from 1969 until his death in 1980, Yoko Ono is a Japanese artist, musician, author and peace activist, known for her work in avant-garde art, music and filmmaking as well as her marriage to John Lennon. Present when Lennon was killed, Ono funded the construction and maintenance of the Strawberry Fields memorial in New York City's Central Park and the John Lennon Museum in Saitama, Saitama, Japan. On October 9, 2007, Ono dedicated a new memorial called the Imagine Peace Tower, located on the island of Viðey in Iceland. She also created an exhibit called John Lennon: THE NEW YORK CITY YEARS for the NYC Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Annex. A controversial figure sometimes, Yoko Ono's dedication to her husband was strong and this book celebrates their relationship.
