Description

The contributions of George Martin, as the Beatles musical director and producer of almost all of the Beatles’ recordings, have influenced many to consider him as “the Fifth Beatle” (though others, like Pete Best and Stu Sutcliffe, have also been given that designation, too). His contributions to many songs and his instrumental accompaniments to LPs are beyond measure and too numerous to list here. Martin’s extensive musical training and sophisticated guidance in the studio are often credited as fundamental contributions to the work of the Beatles.

In this auction:

·       “GEORGE MARTIN INSTRUMENTALLY SALUTES ‘THE BEATLE GIRLS’” LP by George Martin & His Orchestra

·       This LP is United Artists UAL 3539.

·       It was released in November, 1966.

·       This is a MONAURAL (MONO) pressing.

·       The LP is a RARE UNITED ARTISTS WHITE LABEL PROMOTIONAL ISSUE.

·       As you probably know, PROMO RECORDS were only released by record companies to the radio stations and DJs for airplay or to music stores/departments for in-store play and were not made available for sale to the general public to purchase. They have become VERY DESIREABLE to vinyl collectors due to their limited production (scarcity) and unavailability to the public.

·       The White Promo Labels have “NOT FOR SALE” printed on them.

·       This LP contains instrumental versions of 12 Beatles songs, most with a girl-connection. (Not sure how “Yellow Submarine” made the cuts on this LP.)

·       The COVER is in VERY NICE VG+ CONDITION. There is just some very light overall wear and a tiny push on one corner. The cover image is nice and clean and without wear. There are NO seam splits, NO writing, NO tears, NO ring wear, and NO seam flaking.

·       The VINYL is in VG+ CONDITION with some light surface hairlines/scuffs (none “feel-able”). It has lots of gloss.

·       The United Artists WHITE PROMOTIONAL LABELS ARE CLEAN AND WHITE!

·       Included is the United Artists pink inner sleeve which I believe is the correct inner sleeve for this LP. The Beatles’ “A HARD DAY’S NIGHT” original motion picture soundtrack LP (also a United Artists’ release) is one of the LPs pictured and promoted on this inner sleeve.

This is a RARE BEATLES-RELATED PROMOTIONAL LP FOR THE HIGH BIDDER TO ADD TO HIS/HER VINYL COLLECTION! (I’m sure you know how really tough these Beatles-Related United Artists White Label Promo Issues are to come by!!!)
