1969 UK 2nd PRESSING 45
**MISPRESS WITH BLANK APPLE LABEL**
This rare & attractive mispressing features a blank Apple label on the 'A' side.
Copies of 'Hey Jude' with blank 'A' side labels are known, but this is the first copy of this title, to my knowledge, with a blank label to have surfaced.
The disc itself is a 1969 2nd pressing which features a dedicated MONO mix on the dark green Apple label: R 5777
The 'B' side label carries all the correct & complete text but omits the 'Sold in UK..' wording.
The 'KT' tax/price code is visible in the run-outs only.
Housed in its original straight edged, matt Apple company cover.
Matrix numbers: 7XCE 21296-1U & 7XCE 29297-1U
Stamper numbers: 4/RRA & 5/RAM
Labels: 1. MINT 2. NEAR MINT
No spindle marks on the 'A' side label and just two on the 'B' side label.
Visual: EXCELLENT PLUS
Both sides of this rare copy appear 'as new' in daylight with deep-gloss, totally unmarked surfaces.
Close inspection daylight & directly under a halogen desk lamp reveals nothing more than some light inner-sleeve removal hairlines but no other surface marks or scratches.
The disc does have a minor edgewarp, but this does not affect sound or play in any way.
Audio: NEAR MINT
This copy apears to have had just one or two careful plays on good quality equipment as both sides of this great mono mix play 'as new' with no traces of any groovewear or background noise.
A mispressed copy such as this is unlikely to surface again in any condition.
