Description

In this auction:

  • “HELP! Original Motion picture Soundtrack” LP by the Beatles

  • This LP is Capitol Records MAS - 2386.

  • This is a MONAURAL (MONO) PRESSING.

  • This LP was issued August 13, 1965.

  • This is a FIRST PRESSING MONO COPY OF THIS LP. We know this, because the labels don’t have the Ken Thorne credit on the last song on both sides, and it does not list “You Can’t Do That” as part of track 4 on Side 2 in the space below “The Bitter End”.

  • There were 2 subsequent MONO (monaural) pressings later in 1965 following this first pressing.

  • The COVER is in VERY STRONG VG to WEAK VG+ CONDITION. This primarily white/cream-colored cover is quite clean with light to moderate overall wear. The seams and spine are strong with NO splits and NO flaking. The corners and top and bottom of the spine have NO wear. There is a very tiny pen mark near the lower left corner of the front cover. The “bare” space at the top right corner of the front cover was NOT caused by damage or wear. It is a manufacturing defect where at the time of production the slick applied inside the gatefold cover did not wrap around sufficiently to the front cover to fully cover that small corner area. The rear cover has a small “ding” to the top edge above the “HE” in “HELP” with slight paper loss.

  • Due to the primarily white cover, it’s quite tough to find this cover in nice, clean (unsoiled/unstained) condition.

  • The MONO version of this LP has become more desirable and tougher to find these days in decent condition.

  • The VINYL is in NICE VG CONDITION with a number of very light surface hairlines/scuffs (none “feelable”). The vinyl has LOTS OF GLOSS.

  • This vinyl was pressed at Capitol’s Scranton Plant. I understand that the “HELP!” LP covers were not marked with any numbers to identify the Capitol plant of origin.

  • Included is its original olive-green Capitol inner sleeve that also pictures earlier Beatles LPs. This is the correct color Capitol records inner sleeve for this LP issue.

A NICE 1st MONO PRESSING of this BEATLES LP for your vinyl collection.
