Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd. (also possible: Ernest J.Day & Co.) front laminated flipback cover, with outline “mono” on front. An important indicator to say a first press from others is the Label variation. Basic aspects: Black label with yellow logo and silver print. “The Gramophone Co. Ltd.” printed at the start perimeter line and “Sold in U.K. subject…” text. Mostly with KT tax code on the label. The record auctioned here is of Variation "A". The original 1st labels used a Sans-Serif font and the * credit indicator for “I Need You” was placed to the right of the song title with a space between: "I Need You *". This is the safest (and virtually the only) way to make a clear indication regarding first pressings.
As for Label variation "B": Side A is practically the same as in variation "A", but the titles of “Girl” ("Another GIRL" and "You're Going To Lose That GIRL" on track 5 and 6) are being aligned directly above each other. Side 2 has a few more differences in the tracklist layout. Most notably, second line here begins with "BIEM" instead of "NCB"; “Yesterday” no longer starts on its own line.

Last but not least, all records, so does this copy, came in a tracing-paper-lined “Use Emitex” die-cut inner sleeve.   Aesthetics: I am a Collector, hence every record is stored (and will be sent) in a sophisticated way. Original cover, inner sleeve, prospective inserts, and/or whatever may come across, are stored separated. The vinyl sits in a neutral antistatic, padded inner sleeve, which is housed in a stable, neutral hard cover. For 1st pressings I use black, everything else goes to white ones. All together, it is protected by one (or more) transparent plastic sleeves. When sending out, this package goes to a brand-new professional record mailer.   Important: There's several options that are not changeable thru eBay's posting API. Strong, hammering mono sound, clear distinction of high tunes, voices, and rhythm group. However, there's still few noise, mostly between tracks, which is why I grade both sides NM- "only".

Cover is shiny and white, some shadows on reverse side. TOP edges! Also, the spine is about perfect and certainly completely readable. NO writings, marks, rips, cuts, or seam-split, no spots caused of party wine or coffee, still looking used of course, hence a straight overall EX+.
As you can see on the photos below, labels suffered a lill, there's many obvious marks around the spindle hole. I really don't know whether an owner in the past tended to power on his turntable upon being drunk, at least it looks a little like that. However, labels, too, are free of writings, or stuff. There's no spots or cuts, so I leave it to VG+.
Original Emitex inner sleeve has no tears, or spots, but it shows long splits on its sides, hence, sadly, VG-.
The vinyl: Unfortunately, it doesn't look that as good as it sounds, whenever it is minor hairlines only, nothing serious, or even "skipping-prone", all in all very nice and compact. Verdict EX+.
