Released this is the first ever album released to be made up entirely of self composed and self performed Beatle compositions. Trying to identify what is 1st,2nd,3rd etc etc pressings can be a complex business so I have researched numerous sites to find out what pressing this is...& it is the 1st pressing and also from the 1st original run.Info as follows;
- Release date 10th July 1964
- The word "mono"on the top right hand side is middle type
- The wrap around cover has a round cut corner with PMC 1230 on the upper round corner
- This 1st pressing has the Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd cover
- Cover is Printed and made by Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd. Patents Pending PMC 1230 PCS 3058
- "THE PARLOPHONE CO LTD" was printed at the perimeter
- "RECORDING FIRST PUBLISHED 1964" printed on the inner label
- "SOLD IN U.K. SUBJECT TO RESALE PRICE CONDITIONS. SEE PRICE LISTS" on the inner label
- This label has the chubby printed type using the wide font
- The side number sits directly under the number 2 in the catalogue number PMC 1230 ; i.e.: 1 sits under 2 & 2 sits under 2...other pressings sit to the left between the C & 1
- Matrix No's for Side 1 are XEX 481 - 3N
- Matrix No's for Side 2 are XEX 482 - 3N
- Hard Day's Night ...plays very well
- I should have known better...plays very well
- If I fell......plays well with some very light static background noise for a few seconds
- I'm happy just to dance with you...plays very well
- And I love her...plays very well with some background static noise for a very short time
- Tell me why....plays very well
- Can't buy me love...plays very well
- Any time at all...plays well
- I'll cry instead....plays well
- Things we said...light static background noise for about 20 secs
- When I get home...there is a pop on the intro
- You can't do that....there is a pop once every revolution for 5 revolutions at the beginning of the track
- I'll be back....2 pops after 1 minute that last for 1 revolution but very slight

On 14-Jan-14 at 13:39:40 GMT, seller added the following information: I've added this for extra clarity..Side 2: Track 5 has a visible scratch mark at the start of the gap and runs for about half the track itself (about 20mm). This accounts for the popping when the needle passes over it, this starts at the track beginning and then appears in the background for about half of the song. Better to be more accurate.
